Accessibility Statement for Pathfinder

This accessibility statement applies to the Pathfinder Navigation Service. We are legally, morally, and spiritually committed to making our website accessible. We aim to be in full accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018, as well as the unwritten laws of "Please don't make me walk through the boiler room to find X-Ray."

How accessible this website is

We have designed this digital map to be significantly more helpful than the physical floor plan currently being used as a coaster in the staff breakroom. This includes being able to:

  • Navigate the site using a keyboard, a mouse, or intense willpower.
  • Zoom in up to 200% without the text running away to hide in the maternity ward.
  • Distinguish colors effectively, even if the hospital lighting makes everything look slightly beige.
  • Listen to instructions via Screen Reader without the AI judging your choice of shortcuts.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard. We say "partially" because we are still negotiating with a legacy database that believes it is still 1994. Some PDF documents may be inaccessible, particularly the ones that were scanned while the printer was having a mid-life crisis.

The "Pigeon Protocol" for non-accessible content

If you encounter content that is not accessible, please do not attempt to fix it with surgical tape. Known issues include: some buttons having vague labels like "Click Here for the Void," and certain images lacking alt-text because the photographer got lost in the sprawling labyrinth of Wing C.

Technical information

Pathfinder is built using a sophisticated blend of C#, Razor, and prayer. It has been tested on various devices, including smartphones, tablets, and one very confused touchscreen microwave. If the website begins to emit a low humming sound, please ensure you are not accidentally standing inside the MRI machine.

Feedback and contact information

If you need information in a different format—such as an accessible PDF, large print, "Easy Read" (which just uses more pictures of dogs), or Braille—please contact us. We aim to get back to you within 3 business days, or roughly the time it takes for a "Quick 5-minute Consultation" to actually happen.

Enforcement procedure

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the regulations. If you’re not happy with our response, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS). If they don't answer, try the pneumatic tube system; just make sure you don't send your complaint to the Blood Lab.

Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared on February 19, 2026. It was last reviewed by a committee consisting of two overworked developers and a rubber duck named "Debugging Dave."
